Before I was a founder, I was a mom searching for something that didn't exist. My daughter is a young adult on the autism spectrum, and watching her age out of school services — only to find a gap where real community life should have been — lit a fire in me that hasn't gone out.
I spent years in public education, in libraries, in classrooms, and in communities across New Jersey. I know how to build environments where people feel seen, supported, and valued. I decided it was time to build one for adults like her.
That's how The Village Social NJ was born — not from a business plan, but from lived experience and a belief that adults with developmental disabilities deserve more than just care. They deserve a life.
